ABEL CABALLERO, MAYOR OF TOWN In Vigo we love music, we love culture in all its forms of expression and that is why every year we welcome the International Piano Competition with more enthusiasm. Music, from different periods, styles and traditions, not only puts us in contact with cultural diversity, but also promotes the feeling of common belonging to a territory. Culture creates identity, generates social inclusion and acts as a catalyst for diversity. Once again we will enjoy the value of the artists who will participate in this competition, leaving a piece of themselves in each of their performances. They take on new and exciting challenges that often require the support of initiatives such as the International Piano Competition City of Vigo. From the Vigo City Council we have a special commitment to the spreading and enhancement of this art and we are very proud to promote the International Piano Competition City of Vigo, as a great initiative that magnifies the bond that unites us with music.
